bbgobie -

Welcome to GS! I always thought the RSX was the closest thing to an "economy" sports coupe that you could get these days. You have the Honda pedigree, so I'll bet there's some MPG sweet spots in your ECU/PCM.

the more combustions you have in lower gears the more each piston goes back and forth. also, i dont know how ok and tx do inspections, but in nj you cant run obd1 in an obd2 car.

anyway bbgobie, you have the right idea, stay away from 18 wheeliers, the cost of a windsheild every year is not worth the extra couple highway mpg. out of curiosity do you have the type s or base?

I'm confused about the OBD part. I thought the new Scangauge would work with the car?

Edit: Forgot, I got the premium, auto. I do over 100km a day, and a lot of it is in heavy traffic, and my leg is already a bit sore, so I dind't want 2 wounded legs.

sorry i should have clarified who i was talking to with each statement. the obd1 vs 2 comment was to kwtorbe, not to you. to the best of my knowledge the scan gauge should work fine in the rsx.

unfortunately since you do have the auto, accelerating slowly does save you more gas. either way, enjoy the ride and yes you are the first rsx in gassavers:)

Thx.
Too bad about the RSX's. Would've been fun to compare with someone who has the same car.

A guy I work with has an 06 Type S. Definetly a faster, more refined car then my 95 GSR. He's averaging about 27mpg compared to the 29.5 I'm getting om my GSR. I guess my car is better in at least one regard.

Thats impressive.

I assumed anyone with a RSX-s motor in a civic didn't do it for the FE :D
