211,00 on 2002 GMC Sierra. Original engine/transmission/transfer case/axles/CV joints/etc...been through about a million hub/bearing units (should have done those myself and bought lifetime warranty parts) and the rear bumper rotted away. By all rights it shouldn't be running or roadworthy, I've had it since new and haven't taken care of it...I drive it all winter every winter and didn't wash it for like 7 years, every fastener is severely seized. I recently wirebrushed the rear half of the frame, sprayed rust converter, then sprayed undercoating. Couldn't get a few inside areas but it should be ok. Front half will be tougher since I can't just lift the cab off, have to lay under it to do the work and can't access the top side.
1980 Buick LeSabre has 75,000. Original engine but I put in the 5 speed manual at 38,000. I can't believe my work is still holding up. This thing drives me to work and home, about 75 miles every day. About to do all 4 brakes, don't know if they've ever been done but they haven't been touched in at least 10 years and 40,000 miles. |
Isn't it interestingly ironic, the folks who pine for 'the good old days when they built em right' ?
Seems to me today's vehicles are more than a tad better. |
349,850... so let's just say 350,000 on my 1998 GMC Sierra. I have all the maintenance records since new. The transmission was replaced at about 275,000, due to the previous owner's mistake. The engine is all original, except for the intake manifold gasket and passenger-side valve cover gasket. The interior is in great shape, and everything still works except the cruise control. I think that may be caused by a bad wiring job for the truck cap; I will try to sort that out soon. No powertrain leaks, shimmies, shakes, or rust.
