Consumers need advice to decide on effect on economy, study says

"Washington — The U.S. government should collect information on how tires affect fuel efficiency in cars and light trucks to help consumers seek out the most efficient brands, a study says.

The Transportation Research Board called on Congress on Tuesday to authorize the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to collect tire-efficiency data for the public."

Exactly! When I researched this a few months ago, the info was very minimal. Finally some pressure to get this done. Good find...

ROFLOL! Man you should give up this whole Admin thing and take your act on the road. OK, I guess that was funny.

But seriously, back then I wrote most of the tire companies without a single reply (even the TireRack said they couldn't help because they have no equipment to test this variable). The only luck was some marketing page about the Michelin LRR philosophy. Then later, Consumer Reports. And now, finally RESULTS!

RH77 or "Rick" to most folks

Oh, and by the way -- with the money I'm saving on fewer long distance calls, I can buy a ScanGuage and a new set of tires!
