bets on mpg increase?

what do you think the mpg benefits are of swapping in better manual tranny fluid. stock kia stuff is 130k old so im do up for a change. the amsoil mtl is supposed to increase mileage but cost $11 a qt. gl4 syn can be ad for about $7 a qt and regular is about $3. i had the amsoil in my hand this weekend but chickened out on spending that much money if i get no gains. some people say it a tremendous help to p&g and also gives you a bit more mpg regular driving. im taking bets and suggestions. im betting better coasting but no mpg benefits that are noticable. if i can work up the nerve ill get the amsoil since its widley considered the best even if i dont think so.

I doubt the difference in friction would be measurable in MPG.....but after 130K you are pushing your luck!

I agree with Mike. Time to change the oil, but I doubt buying particularly expensive oil will make a measurable difference (in coasting or MPG) over normally-priced decent oil. That's just a guess, though.

Save your money and just use any brand name quality oil in the viscosity recommended in your owners manual.

I switched one vehicle to full syn everywhere with no noticable difference in mpg. But I did it for it's better lube qualities, etc.
