My vx slid into a curb!!!!
ok first of all, I have worked for as long as I could remember to finally get a vx, me and my vx are one with each other, Im allways restoring something on it, wish I could buy a new one, and I am super anal about anything that could stop me from driving this car for 10+ more years and now this, my rear end slid out from under me and into a curb at like 20 mph, doesnt appear to be any visual damage but nice alluminum rim is bend car dog tracks, and underneith looks straigt and square,
i geuss what im getting at is that how can I be sure that the unibody has not been weakened in any way, or tweaked, with the rear subframe? I took to tires plus with 4 steelies on it the alignment showed up ok, I worked for them years back and they used to hang on the wheel sensors to make it look ok so I dont trust them all that well. If anyone has some pointers let me know thanks Much |
A shop that does frame pulling/straightening can tell you if it's been tweaked.

A quick way to check is to take it on a straight stretch of highway with a friend driving. You follow behind in another vehicle. You should be able to see if the car is crabbing (front & rear wheels won't line up when viewed from behind)

How did your car slide at 20mph?
Why would you take it to get checked at a place you don't trust? |
