A few Smart fortwo's for sale locally.
Hey all,
In the past two weeks I have seen three Smart fortwo's for sale at local used car dealerships. They are all placed in the prime spots. Probably because they attract a lot of attention. I'm curious if the original owners are trading them in for Hummers now that the gas prices have lowered... One was on a lot that only sells classic cars. Mostly muscle cars. May be a good buying opportunity for anyone who's interested. , Bill |

A gentlemen in his 40's drives up to the dealer and gets out of his Smart and walks to the first salesman he sees. -"Hello sir, what can I do for you?" "I want a car." -"I see you have that Smart over there. Are you looking to trade it in? What are you looking for?" "I'm looking for a real car." |
A couple of owners have found that the car isn't for them.
A couple of dealers have bought them and then put them on the on the lot heavily overpriced as a draw. "Excuse me sir/ma'am, but for $2k LESS I can sell you this car right over here that is twice the size." When I say heavily over priced I mean they have $18k on the window - so that is before tax/tag/title. My before the tax/tag/title/documents price was around $14.5k on each of my Smarts. I have around 26k combined miles on both my Smarts - see no problems size wise etc. Unfortunately many Americans are brainwashed and feel the need to have a car that seats 4+ people when all they ever have is 1 - maybe 2 people tops in the car 99.9% of the time. Mine's a commuter for me and serves that purpose - I do need to fix my Jetta if I ever want to take more than 2 people but it's sat in the garage for over a year now broke so that can tell you my need for a 2+ person car. |
