Not a whole lot of "utility" for the vehicle's design principals.. maybe performance could be reduced for more underseat/lockable storage?

I see the purpose of a electric moto being conserving fossil fuel with less impact on environment, sport bikes in general are not particualrly good at neither. I guess I don't understand the reason for designing/creating another "sport" bike with electric motor, the uncomfortable riding position would deter the masses from purchasing. If the performance of the electric motor could be combined with some decent riding comfot, a la scooter style, maybe more people would be into "sport" bikes, or sport type riding.

if you could put it on a scooter and it would do 70mph (or at least 60)
I think the market would be pretty big for it, even bigger if you could put it in a 3 wheeler for stability. still keeping the range at over 50 miles, I would consider one. |
Something not quite right there . . . first that is a lot of speed for something that small, second there does not seem to be enough space for batteries in that frame to be able to go that many miles, third why is there a hydralic lever on the left AND right sides unless there is a transmission that requires a clutch.

It shouldn't be hard or expensive to convert an existing gas scooter to run alright on batteries, you might lose cargo space but it can't be that bad.
Your typical 150cc scooter makes around 10 horsepower and 8.5hp golf cart motors can be had for under $400 for the most part. You could run that motor direct drive and get rid of that power robbing CVT. Just make sure it's geared well enough to get you up to 55 at the motor's peak hp rpm and give the controller the ability to over-run the motor by a couple hundred rpm for a short time. |
