scorpion exo-400 helmet
I just bought this helmet for $150 new local. I looks pretty good to me but what do I know..... $150 is what I can affore more or less. They had some more expensive helmets for around $250-$350. I don't remember. What do you guys think of this helmet? Cheap piece of crap or what?

$80 helmet, $600 helmet they all pass the same crash test.. would one protect you better than the other? if the helmet fits your head properly, they are likely to protect you just the same.
Then again, how much is your head worth to you? |
Scorpion is a good value for the money. I used to have an exo400 and it worked out nice for me. I currently have the exo700 rivet. They have good build quality and features found on more expensive helmets.

Yeah, I'll have to agree that the Scorpion is a pretty darn good model even though it is really inexpensive. There are a lot of people using them at the race track. They get used at the race track too, as in people hit the ground with them. There have been some manufacturers that got singled out as having helmets that were dangerous, and that has not been attached to Scorpion at all.
I have raced with and tested Arai, Bell, Bieffe (out of business now), and Suomy. I would race with a Scorpion helmet. |
very good to know. thanks a lot. I feel a lot better about the purchase.
