Wrong Spark Plugs
I have found a car for sale that the owner said their mechanic put the wrong spark plugs in it and it blew the engine. I've never heard of anything like that happening before. Does anyone have any idea what kind of problems it might cause? The price is right if it was something pretty simple to repair.

not likely related unless of course he dropped debris into a cylinder while changing them. does he drink? spilled beer in a cylinder doesn't compress very well. :)

Do not buy it. Keep looking.
Just my opinion. |
I've been thinking about taking a trip over to take a closer look at the car and maybe take my code reader, compression gauge and a tool box and see if I can figure out what the problem is. I'm still open to other suggestions if anyone else has any.

Probably the plugs were too long and hit the piston tops and disintegrated which would trash the engine.
I always helps to inspect the replacement parts to make damn sure they are physically similar to the ones that came out. regards gary |
So what happens to the debris that is snapped off!!!!!!!!! Ceramic and steel bouncing xround until it gets jammed between the piston and head.
Bye bye engine. I happened to my brothers brand new GM idesel when one of the glow plugs fell apart at 600 miles. They pulled the cab off the truck to change the engine. regards gary |
