DIY Jawhorse

I've been reading reviews of the Jawhorse, but the price ($180) has more than killed serious interest in buying one. Today at Lowes I got a folding metal sawhorse from Task Force for $16. They had one set up and it's quite solid. Height adjustment is a bit clumsy for folding, but for that price, no biggie. It's not a tripod, but that feature won't be much use to me anyway. I was thinking of adding a clamp to it as well, since that does seem practical. I'm sure the Jawhorse would be far superior, but not at this price point. Sort of wish now I'd gotten two of them.

I've used a similar cheap sawhorse, it was clumsy as described but otherwise a nice tool.

$16 is too rich for my budget, so if I need a sawhorse, I will build one (I probably already have and it's in my basement, shed, or yard somewhere). Well, that's if I need two...if I need one, my truck's tailgate is just right.

I have a couple home made sawhorses, but throwing them in the car in a lot less convenient than I'd like.

I had the same problem, I'm looking for good advice.
