I can't tell if mine is rubber coated and/or has two kinds of corrosion. It goes silver->spotty green->orange->green->orange...it's definitely got at least one kind of corrosion.

The seat in mine looks more like a thin basic sleeve (vs. that picture that looks like a thick detailed nut-like thing).

How about the solenoid...it defaults in the extended position, I can push it in smoothly and easily, and it springs back out. Is that correct? I have to try applying 12v to it and see what happens. I guess it doesn't matter much since I have my inline valve now, I just have to remember to kill the engine with the valve rather than the key.

well to answer your solenoid that is correct, should spring out when no power is too it(mower key is off) this shuts off the fuel flow when its not running.

when its energized (ie mower running) it should be pulled down so it lets fuel in.
