Honda Pilot Cabin Air Filter

Has anyone tried to replace the cabin air filter on a 1st Generation Honda Pilot? I'm working on an '04, and the brace under the glove box blocks the door for the filter element. I removed the metal brace, but the plastic dash part still blocks it. It extends down the center console to the left and up the passenger side door frame on the right. It's not my car so I'm hesitant to start ripping it out, especially since there are no visible screws to undo. I'm afraid of cracking the plastic.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

same setup in my 03 Odyssey. You can just cut the plastic part, it's not a structural part, the metal brace is.

I figured it out this morning. I saw it on another site. Once I did that, it was an easy change. Thanks for the help.
