Any one with a 4x4 Jeep leberty success..!

I have a 2003 jeep liberty 4x4, 3.7 v6. As always, the factory MPG claims to be 17/20 but I'm far from there. Is there anyone in the forum that had improve mileage on these little guzzlers...?
Thanks
Gonzo...

this is a patriot but they may be similar in drive trains.

not a jeep guy so I really can't say. he would be one to hit up though.

The Patriot is very different, including its drivetrain. A Wrangler may have a more similar drivetrain. There are a few Wranglers here - user rgathright for example.

You can search the garage. Click on the "Garage" tab, and "Search the Garage" is in the grey bar under the tabs.

Liberty gaslogs don't look good, only one has any success beating the EPA estimates and not much success, at that:

I only saw 4 gaslogs, though, so maybe you can do a lot better.

Actually, none of them are very similar but if you are talking mileage you can compare, sorta, to the 2007+ Wranglers if you tack on a couple points to their numbers to account for the platforms.

These are all 2007 automatic tranny numbers...

Wrangler 3.8L 4x4 = 14/18
Liberty 3.7L 4x4 = 15/20
Patriot 2.4L 4x4 = 20/24

glad I made the disclaimer

maybe it's just like the ptcruiser. I never heard of anyone getting even descent mileage in one of those.

Damn! I didn't realize the Liberty was so heavy!
