VX: Scan gauge and SIL

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if any of you with a VX in a scan gauge has seen any correlation to the gauge and the shift idicator light (SIL).

on my HX if the check eng. light is on the shift light(arrow) will not work till the check eng. light is cleared.

What I mean is, has anyone compared the SIL to scan gauge readings. I'm wondering if the engine is in lean burn when the SIL is off.

Larry J --I have instant feedback in my vx (MPGuino and a leanburn monitor) and I find it is much more important to remain in leanburn than to obey the SIL and cause the engine to drop out of leanburn . Besides the SIL does not work in 5th gear. For max FE just stay in leanburn as much as possible in the tallest gear possible.
