WTB: Civic VX 92-95 service manual

No, but I used to. But why oh why do you want to have one?

Yes, it's always nice to have a book; however, with laptops and netbooks being so cheap (relatively speaking) you can always bring your portable in the garage with you while you work.

Shop manuals are like buggy whips, they are obsolete. And - for good reason. Not having to print and ship them saves a lot of $$$$, freeing up the funds for other uses.

I owned the 92 Civic service manual in book form. I like the pdf much more because it's easier to print out pages from the pdf than it was to scan/copy pages from a thick book like I did before PC's really took off.

Sometimes even a netbook that you don't mind getting grease and gasoline all over (by "you" I don't mean me...I'd mind a lot) is still not a good substitute for an old-fashion, properly bound dead tree edition. Also, if you don't have a laptop or netbook, the cost of one can buy a whole lot of dead tree edition Haynes manuals...and if you don't have a decent printer, the same.

I looked up the online manuals for my truck at the usual places (EBSCOHost's ARRC, AutoZone) but I'm sure glad I had my Haynes manual in bound paper with me when working on my truck yesterday.

rbhollabaugh, until you find the manual you want at the price you want (I suggest crafting a good eBay search and setting it to email new matches daily), you might be able to borrow one from your local library.

any 92-95 civic service manual should cover vx models too. mine does.
i definately prefer paper over electric.

For me it wasn't a matter of preference, I needed a 92 manual and bought a CD version since it was a lot cheaper. The main reason I needed it was for the electrical diagrams, which were totally unreadable (the original scans weren't fine enough). I wound up buying a paper copy anyway. I agree that for 98% the pdfs are fine. On the other hand, Haynes and Chilton don't include electrical diagrams, so if those work for you, so would the pdfs. I had to spring for the factory book.

Both the Haynes and Chilton's manuals for my truck come with dozens of pages of electrical diagrams. I didn't know there were any that don't come with them.

I have the Haynes manual for '92-'95 Civics. So far, it has covered everything I need. I bought it for $17 at NAPA a few years ago. They ordered it (none in stock). Auto Zone and Advance Auto are usually more likely to have a particular manual in stock.

Haynes manuals can be variable, my Caravan/Voyager one has very complete and accurate wiring diagrams for every year, my Escort one has "representative" diagrams for a couple of years only and has it laid out by system, which makes things difficult, can't tell easily which things are interdependant or share grounds, or whether the wires run together in the same bit of loom.

I had an extra, so a few emails & it has a new home.
