New Member From Missouri
I was recommended this site from another website called frugelsquirrels.com and since I notice that a lot of people are doing their darnest to find ways to save gas, I thought I'd join to see what people are doing, so greetings from Missouri.
I own a 2008 Toyota Tundra and plan on doing some mods on it to save gas, however before I decide to do any changes, I have been practicing my muscle memory on using better driving habits , such as not stepping on it, and taking advantage of hills and the terrain around me to get the maximize mileage I can and it has already started to pay off and I noticed it more when I let me wife drive my truck, because when she drives to the same city my truck comes back with a 1/4 tank and I return with half a tank full, driving the same mileage., so I think the place for me to start is driving habits. |
Welcome aboard - there is all kinds of information starting with simple stuff (driving habits) to some pretty extreme aerodynamic and engine modifications.
Hope you enjoy your stay! -Bob C. |

+1 on the driving habits, lowglow. I've managed some amazing mileage feats with my unmodified cars. I had a 75 mpg leg for 40 miles from Truckee CA to Reno NV, a 59 mpg run for 165 miles from Gallup NM to Tuba City AZ, and a 51.5 mpg run for 1213 miles from Gallup to the Bay Area. All done in my unmodified Scion xB by changing my driving habits.
