Tires For Sale-Should I Buy Them?

"Master Yoda, what would happen if he put these tires on his wife's Camaro?"
"The Camaro new tires would have."

I'd go for it if I needed new tires.

i'm kinda skeptical if it seems to good to be true. plus, it is craigslist...

my wife's tires have some tread left, but are starting to dry rot. have to consult her as she was hoping for white raised letters!

I'd definitely go to look at them, and buy them unless there was something obviously wrong.

How much do they cost new, retail?

$200 for 4 is half of Tirerack's shipped price. That ought to be worthwhile, unless you tend to use your road hazard warranty.

Ever since I started my increased pressure habit, I have had far fewer tire failures; the few I had could be plugged, so no replacement was necessary. In the last 6 years I don't think I've replaced a damaged tire.

check out when was it made, there should be 4 nunbers on the sidewall, if its more than 2 yrs old, i would pass.

example: 1008 means its made in the 10th week of the year 2008

lol 5 years is the legal limit for a store to sell. if they haven't been mounted and weren't stored exposed to the weather they should be perfectly fine even beyond that.

I'd ask what the story is behind the tires. you don't just "not need" 4 brand new tires and sell them for half the retail cost.
