Anyone know MegaSquirt well?

I was tuning today for FE, and didn't notice that it only reads up to 15.7:1 AFR. I kept leaning out, and had to redo it. What I'm wondering is: shouldn't the guage in Megatune read up to 18:1, like the guage that came with the Dynojet wideband commander? I made sure that MS is set for the DynoJet.

a friend of mine suggested this

https://www.msefi.com/index.php

he also said that the megasquirt manual is available online (though it is big)

You need to adjust the angles on the gauges manually.
First get TunerStudioMS. Much more user friendly interface.
https://www.efianalytics.com/TunerStudio/
Once you have your project open, right click in the middle of the screen, check the 'designer mode' box. Then right click on the gauge you want to change (in this case AFR) and select 'limits'. Its infinitely adjustable.
good luck
Justin

Thank you tjts1.
I have the MegaManual printed out, and read it many times, since I don't understand half of it (the computer/ code part).
Thanks, Justin, I'll do it!

Thanks for the suggestion, Beef.

...so, I downloaded the tunerStudio, and it [basically] says it doesn't recognise my .msq file. I'm not savvy enough to convert it, or know what to do about it.
Fortunately, I have a seperate AFR guage that I go by, but it's just disconcerting that MS doesn't read the same.
I set the AFR to up to 17:1 at cruising, but I could feel a slight loss of power; almost stumbling, so I richened it up to about 16.5:1.
I'm at 278 miles, and have about 2 gallons to go (to 10 gal.), so I should be at about my 35mpg goal, and that's about half city driving. :)

You *might* be able to get rid of that stumbling by retarding your timing.

Oh, yeah.. I'll try it. I got too focused on the fuel.

For tuner studio, don't worry about the MSQ file you already have. Connect your lap top to your MS box with the power on. Go into tuner studio and start a new project, then have it auto detect your specific version of MS. Once its open, you can save a new identical MSQ file in tuner studio. Its worth a try.

definitely play around with spark timing in the really lean areas of the map. Let us know how it goes. I wish I had spark control setup on mine. I'll have to wait til summer.

I'll try again. I went to "new project" but didn't see an auto detect. Thanks again :)

File, new project, 'detect' button.
