How to better the MPG's on my '75 175cc enduro
I currently can go about 50 miles per tank and I have a 1.8 Gallon tank. I get like 27 or so. I dont know what to do. Its a 175cc Carborated 2 stroke. I do ride it incredibly hard, but still...
I also want to keep it fairly easy to switch back to normal, or even riding styles. I mean, Its a classic and VERY low milage so I would like to keep it stock if possible |
Have you considered going to a larger front sprocket and smaller sprocket on the rear to give it taller gearing.

That's a tough question! An old Enduro 175 doesn't have much power, so taller gearing would be a compromise. Maybe try 2 teeth smaller on the rear spocket and see how it feels.
If it has an adjustable needle in the carb, try lowering the needle/raising the C-clip one notch. That should lean it out a little in the midrange. The needle is easy to change in most old carbs. |
How much weight can you loose?
|
Get into an aerodynamic tuck whenever you ride it.

Two stroke motors were gas pigs until recently. The exhaust scavenging process blows about 1/3 of the fuel from the carburetor right out through the exhaust. Either get a 4-stroke, or wait intil direct fuel injection becomes available.
