I don't know why, I've just never been able to appreciate cars that old. I am turned off by everything from the beginning through the '50s excessive fins era.

I'm a sucker for car in fat whitewalls.

I am always shocked when I go to a museum or see one of these things on the road. They're HUGE. This one is as tall as Shatto's truck.

I'm used to driving cars that leave me eye level with the license plate of the car in front of me. It's weird for me to look at a 20+ foot-long car that is 6 feet tall.

(OK, you know I'm a youngin')

I guess I've always been a sucker for Packards. Came close to buying one a couple times...in at least one case, if I knew then what I know now, I'd have bought it with no problem.

When I was a kid, about 12-14 or so, there was one about this vintage, a coupe, running around my town. It was primer grey, and looked like it had gone through the war backwards. Certainly not as shiny as this (probably hadn't been that shiny since a couple days after it left the dealer's lot).

see im just the opposite, back then cars seemed to have character, unique style, actual bumpers lol:D

ever since about 1990 (i have VERY few cars i like from them on, even up to then i don't like alot) i think cars got boring, bland, no character nothing interesting (just crap to make retarded drivers even dumber) and that cause a crapload of damage repair wise from a 2 mph bump:(

new cars all look like boring crap to me and their features and technology they have is way way way too much:p

lol yea you see these old 40's cars in movies and magazines and whatnot but at museums its like holy crap thier huge!

gotta remember in the 40's there were still very few paved roads so ground clearance was still an issue
