2 different factory distributor caps for VX?
 

I am finding 2 part #'s for a Honda replacement distributor cap
30102-P54-006
and
30102-PT2-026

It appears the P54 cap was used only on 95 civics while the PT2 cap was used 92-94. Both are listed as replacements for all 92-95 3 door civics though.

My question is. Do you think that the change in 95 indicates that they used an improved distributor cap design in which case I should buy the newer cap? Or do you think it would be better to get the 92-94 cap because it would have been exactly what came on my VX from the factory?

Odds are that the 95 year model unit is the replacement for all the others now. You could call your local dealer and see if anyone knows the difference.
