I'll be AFK on Thursday & Friday
Motorcycle class will be all day Thursday & Friday. If all goes well, I may be the proud owner of the following next week!

Have fun! and don't be too worried about dropping one of the training bikes- especially if they are already dinged up.
It is better to have dropped a bike once and know what the limits of traction are (the dry pavement cornering ability would surprise most people), rather than to miss a curve and ride off the road or hit a car that pulled out in front of you because you were afraid to turn sharper/harder. Same way with the front brake- better to experiment now with how much it helps you stop, rather than being afraid to pull it hard when you really need it. Obviously you will drop the bike if you lock it up, but the front brake gives you at least 70% of your stopping ability. |
Yeah, the bike is there to drop. I know that one. I imagine they will probably be little Honda Rebels. The info I got from the college states that the bikes range from 100 to 300 cc.

Also remember, when you see something large in front of you, to go around it rather than try to depend on your brakes to stop! :)

This is the POS I rode today.

I asked to switch bikes today. This one had forward controls, and a transmission that didn't have to be beat into submission. It was a lot better. I passed the class!

Congrats!
