Need Electronics Advice Please
 

I need help making a decision on electronic devices. Advise me.

Netflix has changed the program; Their original intent was to provide movies directly to the television and computer and now they do...for $7.00 a month, which is bit less than 3 DVD's for $19.00 I now pay.

What I need is to buy the go-between equipment.
I'm guessing that the best fit for my use is a Blue-Ray player because I have never played a video game and have no plans to do so, and I surely don't plan doing video exercise, so the less costly gamers are out.

Have I missed something?
What is the best plan?

If you are looking for a streaming device, I strongly encourage you to look at a Roku player. I have one on my bedroom TV, and the quality is excellent, much better than the quality on game consoles. I have Netflix built into my TV, and that is fantastic quality as well.

I recommend the Roku as the best value though, as there are many free channels available for the Roku.

Certain models of BlueRay players work with about 8 different downloading services including Netflix - drop your plan to one at a time and save some money there but they will only allow about 2 dvds a week no matter how fast you watch them and send them back. I used to get three a week watching them the same day and sending them right back but they "forget" to ship when they say they do and you end up missing the weekends with no movie. They also just started a streaming only plan for $7.99 no DVD movies. I watch on line with my computer connect to my TV but that takes more power and skipping backwards or forwards makes you wait for the buffering download. Be careful with the Rouko box some only have composite video output as a friend in Fla found out when he got a new LED TV with no Composite input. Some BlueRay boxes as low as $100 will play netflix so it's a no brainer.

The original base model Roku player is composite only (like I have on my bedroom TV), but all current models are HD and have HDMI outputs.
