Shatto the Amsoil Guy endorses Lucas product.

So, here I am; the guy who has this statement at the bottom of each post: "I use and talk about, but don't sell Amsoil." because there are people who mistake my exuberant testimony as 'selling'
and now I am going to complement another company's product. No, I'm not selling it either.

Here's the story:

The engine of my Tundra sprung a leak. Dex, my mechanic found a leak from a head gasket (there are two) and we began thinking in terms of replacing the engine because of the cost of opening it up and possibly finding a mess of stuff needing fixing like valves, rings, seals and such, all because the truck has always used oil, to the tune of a quart every couple thousand miles, which is serious in a high-mileage work vehicle.

So, I asked for help:

And folks from all over gave me all sorts of advice. :)

Then all of a sudden, every time I parked there were six to a dozen drops of oil after just a couple minutes. The entire underside was covered with oil. Yuck!

While I was thinking about the replacement engine thing I had Dex do something he has never done for me....change the oil....as I had run it way, way, way beyond it's service life and I just didn't want to get dirty doing it myself.
He added a bottle of Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak https://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...%20Stop%20Leak
I'll be darned if the dripping didn't stop. Heckofa temporary fix.

So now the plan is when I have to replace the timing belt anyway at 200,000 miles, and because repair and replacement are nearly the same, drop-in a low mileage engine and carry-on.

So, looking at an imminent engine replacement, you still wanted to change the oil?

Anyway I'm glad it worked out.
