Shatto's Lab Test & Oil Change

Vehicle: 1988 Honda Prelude SI with 4-wheel steering, 4-speed automatic w/lock-up

Oil analysis done at: Oil Analyzers

The story:
I sent samples of transmission fluid and motor oil for analysis.
The ATF, with over 100k miles service is okay for continued use.

The Engine oil was trashed. Here is the lab report.

June is Bustin Out All Over!

Finally, it was dry enough to work.
Removed the by-pass filter

And installed the new one (you are supposed to read the information on the label :) )

And the little 'spin-on' filter

Added the new, clean oil...

Ran the engine to fill the filters. When the by-pass is full, the oil comes out the return hose.

And, lastly:
Go in house, wash and collapse.
