What are gas prices like in your area?
We're at 2.77 for regular here in Salt Lake City, UT. "regular" may be 85 octane though, so it might not be a good comparison for "regular" in your area.
How are gas prices in your area? |
Hmm
It goes from 2.75 to 2.89 for regular, and regular is always 87 octane around here. Last time I filled up for 2.829.
|
2.579 for 87 at the Shell
2.579 for 87 at the Shell down the road. I'm in Texas, btw.

$3.09 here in san Bernardino

Hmm
I just read an article saying that the governor decided 25% of stations in NJ were gouging. Makes since since the state average is above national, when it has been below throughout my lifetime.

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
BUMP!!!
did a search on MSN for gas prices in my area...interesting that the prices are more competitive than they typically are. hmmm.... i've been buying shell for a while now as it has VERY little difference than the non top tier stations in my county. in orlando and some of the suburbs, the difference can be quite pronounced. either way, i pay less than the "discount" brands anyway. if gas reaches $4/gal, i'll be getting 20cents off per gallon w/ my shell card! |

How are you getting 20 cents? |
Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
got mine a couple years ago at 5% back of the total $$$ amount. last year or the year before they changed it to 5 cents/gal. i still get my 5% as far as i know.

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
I paid $3.699 today for pure gasoline, no ethanol, which was $ .06 more than the cheapest E-10 in town. Discover has a credit card that I use that gets you a 5% rebate on the first $100. of gas or automotive expenses per month.

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
They too darn high, that's what they're like in Arkyland.

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
We don't have regular here. But fuel prices hit records.
I pay over 1,6 euro for 1 liter!! This is 8,76 dollar for 1 gallon for the most popular, common fuel: petrol EURO95. And you guys say petrol is expensive? |
Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
We're at 140yen per liter of regular gasoline or $1.68USD per liter, so about $6.72 USD a gallon

when gas was near $4/gal, we were in fact paying nearly 20 cents less per gallon. shell in my area is very competitive, so i dont pay 10 or 15 cents more just to save 20. it's more like 2 or 3 pennies more...sometimes less or equal. i do have to confirm tho, that now for new card applicants, it is in fact only 5 CENTS, not 5% on the gallon. sorry... edit: i have also confirmed discover card lowered their gas purchase cash back % to 2, down from 5 as well. the limit has been raised however. |

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
In my place, gas prices are down -- for now. But the days whenever you could just leave without thinking about fuel costs are long behind us. Now watchful planning and thought is given to our every move when driving. Here are several simple considerations which may conserve you some green next time at the gas station. The Tips for better gas mileage helped me a lot. Try it too. Just like, when you have to idle for longer than 45 seconds, turn off your engine. And ?warming up? your car is unnecessary with most modern cars. If you just start and go, you will save the gas burned up while it idles.

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
Filled up mom's car yesterday. $3.789. I know there was one station a couple miles from where I filled it up for $3.719, but the car wasn't very low (took just over 6 gallons) on gas so I knew I'd burn all the savings driving out out of the way. I always fill mom's car up when it's over at my house, the town she lives in is a very small town and gas prices are $ .10-$ .20 more per gallon there. She had a Dr.'s appointment here in town and a few other places to go so I thought I'd better fill it up before the price went up even more. Last week I filled up 4-2 1/2 gallon gas cans for her so I'd have gas when I mow her yard. Provided we don't have a lot of wet weather it should last her until mid-late June. I figured gas was just going to keep going up so I thought maybe it would save her a few dollars. Just since I filled the cans for mowing last week the price had gone up $ .10 per gallon. Mom is retired and since dad passed away and his social security check isn't coming in her income has been cut by more than half what they were both drawing so every penny helps. I try to keep the grass cut for her to save her having to pay someone $30-$40 a week to do it for her. She's worth it, I wouldn't take anything for her!!! Even though I bought I couple Mega Millions tickets last week when the lottery was $640 million and was hoping to win, if I'd have had to make a choice of the money or mom, mom would have won hands down. The money wouldn't have been any good if I couldn't share and enjoy it with the people I love.

Re: What are gas prices like in your area?
So far you have saved $1.00 on mower gas.
|
We got all the way down to $2.76 right around Christmas Day. Now we're back up to $3.53 with some places as high as $3.64 a gallon.
Might we see $4 a gallon gas by Memorial Day? |
We are having a similar situation in the Raleigh, NC area. Up, down, up, down. What I dont understand is how there is a 10 cent difference from where I live to where I work which is about 35 miles apart and both areas are fairly industrialized and city like. Where is the reasoning behind this. Its pretty crazy if you asked me!
|
i notice posting here(GS) is up directly related to the sharp rise in prices
|
~7.41 USD/gal (436huf/l)
