Catalytic Converter Recycling

it seems i'll be doing a cat replacement soon. anyone have any experience w/ selling the old one to a recycler?

anyone know of a company that can be shipped to for top dollar, or would my local guys be the best bet?

what price should i expect to get for it?

Scrap yards usually buy them. Maybe they will quote a price over the phone, but they'll likely say "it depends on how big it is".

just take it to the local guys much less hassle. whatever you would gain by shipping it out is eaten up by postage, box, gas to get to post office, waiting for check to come back, etc...

They're worth a lot. My local recycler pays $100 for small units.
