Name that part...
This is a photo of a Hygrade Jiffy carburetor kit for my Quadrajet. Can anyone identify the circled items with such low resolution?
https://i56.tinypic.com/25a7s4k.jpg Here it is again without the circling: https://www.fuelpumpsusa.com/AUTOPART...ade_1201_1.jpg Exploded view of carburetor: https://i55.tinypic.com/2afa076.jpg The less expensive cross-referenced kit I received: https://i53.tinypic.com/24y7hnl.jpg I'm trying to know what I'm doing (and potentially what parts I'm missing that would be in a better kit) before I rip into a carburetor... Tangent rant: The good news about ordering from Rockauto is that their customer service is decent (a little uncooperative the second time they didn't send what I ordered, but eventually they cooperated to my satisfaction) and their prices on some things can't be beat. However, I don't recommend trying to get a higher-quality item; buy the cheapest of whichever item you're ordering, because it seems that's what you'll get either way. I requested that they remove the more expensive kit from the catalog if they will only send the cheaper kit anyway and they gave me an excuse. |
Re: Name that part...
On the lower right there are 3 pop rivets, probably for the electric choke pull off cover (on some models the old ones have to be drilled out)
In the middle, the metal ball is the accelerator pump check valve. |
Re: Name that part...
I thought they look like pop rivets, but I couldn't figure out why they would be included, as the kit includes screws (left, under triangular "circle") to replace the riveted choke cover.
