Coil over spark plugs
 

With these systems, when replacing the spark plugs, is there anything else that should be replaced?

the coils on those systems are expensive so I would probably say to just replace the plugs and see how it goes.

I had a dodge with that setup and it had 8 coils in it. I would hate to have to replace all of those.

I don't think the coils them selves need it, but I came across replacement boots while looking for the plugs.

replacement boots?

if they were just a few bucks I would throw them in just because. if they were a little steeper than you want to go, I would check the old ones to see if they were dry or cracked and go from there.

Yes, the boots are replaceable on most vehicles and ought to be changed like plug wires would. Just ask at your local parts store.
