So, I have never posted in this section. It seems the last time anyone did was may! I guess it's time to break radio silence.

As many of you know, (or don't already know!) I'm a professional musician. In fact, it's how I make my living. 85% or my income comes from playing music live. I hold a BM (bachelor of music degree) with a concentration in performance. I play almost all popular percussion instruments. Drumset, snare, bongos, congas, timbales, and plenty of the shakers, bells, and even whistles!

Anyway, I had a gig with one of my more fun side projects recently. The name of the group is Fuego De La Mente. It's a salsa/dance/Cuban band. The tune is about a volcano. Here's a youtube video of that:

My full time music gig is The Nikki Hunt Band. We play 140+ gigs a year. Very busy. Here's a video of 500 miles:

Note: This is the SMALLEST venue in the state we play for. It's also the only one so far we got a friend to film a decent video of.

my wife and i enjoyed those.

as i get older, i'm more inclined to expose myself(and my kids) to positive stimuli be it books, experiences, music, etc.
not that all music is negative, but much is neutral: idle hands, feet, ears...

do you do anything by third day, casting crowns, toby mac, and such? i've put a couple of my favorites(youtube) in my signature as well.

Nothing by the artists you've mentioned yet. The latin band is, well, playing primarily Latin standards. The Nikki Hunt Band plays primarily tunes that have been at least top 10 and sung (or could be sung) by a female singer.
I like the tunes in your sig.
I listen to anything, really. I can't listen to some things very long, but I listen to everything at least once. I think there's value in every expression.
