Re: funny comic
Ah, but where am I going to find a 5 minute minimum wage job that involves something I enjoy (like driving my car)?

Re: funny comic
The comic has a mouse hover caption on the site.
Don't know how to copy it, but the quick and dirty is that for the average car, every mile gone one way to save 1 cent, burns more than was saved. |
Re: funny comic
40 mpg 1 mile == 0.025 gallons * $3.50 == $0.0875...
So in a 40mpg car, at $3.50 a gallon, almost 9 cents per mile. Meaning for every mile you drive, to recoup your costs, you need to get 9 gallons of fuel. |
Re: funny comic
Even if you were driving.... let's say a 2010 Honda CBF 125 that you can hypermile in and get 161.6 mpg, it still costs 2 cents to go that extra mile.

Re: funny comic
And it costs much more. I don't know much about that particular bike, but with ours, maintenance actually costs more than the fuel they burn. And there's the purchase price and papers, taxes, insurance (though the last two is tricky, because they're for years, not miles).
