Movies in General

I'm a big movie fan, I worked for 7 years in television and 4 years in Hollywood. I love movies and have boxes of video tapes and DVD's. When they hold the Academy Awards, it's like my Super Bowl, I have held an Oscar Night party for the last 28 years.

I watch everything, classics, action, horror, documemtary, foriegn, independant, and even drama's. Every year, when they post the nominies, I go out and try and see each movie nominated.

The thing I noticed about this year, 2011, is how boring movies have become. So far the best movie out this year was Tangled. The Disney animated movie, had a beginning, middle, and an end. It was funny and you loved the characters.

Stuff like Transformers 3 was soapy and too long, give me action, the movie made you fell like it dragged on. Harry Potter was depressing and too long. I have a review after this and what was surley to scream Oscar was disjointed and lost.

I think Hollywood's obession to please all the people all the time, has made movies linear and vague. I got Netflix in December and it is my oasis, I stream and receive DVD's, a much needed port in a dreary storm.

Am I crazy or has this year been dull?

Yeah, been dull. I dropped my DVD's by mail a few months ago on Netflix, so I only have streaming now. If we want to watch a DVD we just pick it up at Redbox since Netflix didn't have new release DVD's anyway.
