Infinity G20

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the Infinity G20?

It has a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine that some are claiming to get 37 mpg on the highway.

I found a couple of 1999 to 2001 on Craigslist under $4000.00.

Example: Infinity G20

isn't that just a nissan sentra (upscaled)?

the fact that it is a 2liter, I would think that it would do pretty good. realize that most of the time you can beat the crap out of the EPA ratings.

my cavalier is rated 25mpg mixed. I can easily get 35+ in the summer and usually stay above 30 in the winter.

I am not a nissan guy but have heard people compare them to honda and toyota (I may get flamed for that one).

generally small to midsized cars with 4 cylinder motors should get you mid 30s

there again just my 2 cents.

Good catch.

Actually doing more research the Nissan 200SX looks attractive for MPG. It was made up until 1998.

I had a '96 200SX SE-R with the same SR20DE 2 liter engine as the G20. The other Sentra models had a 1.6 liter engine. I averaged 30 mpg with mine, and I wasn't a hypermiler then. I remember one 36 mpg tank driving out of SLC to Denver. The G20 was heavier, and never capable of the same mpg.

I have a shot at buying a 1992 Nissan 240SX with 220,000 miles on it. I haven't look at it yet but the owner said it has a new clutch, new timing belt, and a new paint job.
He has only had it a few months but he said the original owner used it to tow a small boat. The owner kept it in a garage except when he took his boat out to the nearby lake.
Anywho the guy that is selling it said he bought it to put a new engine for speed but doesn't have time for it.
I'm going to have my son look at it since it is, coincidentally, a few blocks from where he is staying.
The problem I see right now is that the guy wants $2,500.00 for it and Edmunds.com says it's worth no more than $700 in outstanding condition.
I don't know how accurately Edmunds will be for a 20 year old car.

Re: Infinity G20

The 240SX is SeX on wheels, which is probably how the owner justifies the asking price. Unfortunately, it came with a pathetic 2.4 liter truck engine, and the most popular engine swap was the SR20DE from the SE-Rs and G20s.
