Early 80's GM seat belt mounting bolts

Well, the Big White Hooptie failed the annual state safety inspection. After 30+ years of use, the driver's side seat belt is frayed. I've found a company that will rebuild my seat belt assemblies with new color matched webbing, but I got to get the the assembly out to ship it to them. It seems that its a huge Torx fitting that secures the belt to the floor pan. Does anyone know what size this is? Its a 1981 Buick Regal Limited.

Thanks,
Jay

I just checked my 1980 Buick. T-45 fit decently, T-50 might be proper if the fastener head wasn't slightly corroded.

Harbor Freight is selling the same 1/2" drive torx set I have for $10 right now.

Thanks... The nearest HF is about 40 miles away, and I want to get these out so I can ship them off immediately. I may just buy it at Sears if they don't want too much for it.

You might be able to get a loaner set from an auto parts store.

I don't know about getting a loaner, when I'm not buying parts though...

I've gotten loaners from Advance Auto Parts without a purchase.

I've used large allen wrenches before to remove seatbelt bolts. It's big enough that stripping is less of a problem. I find the tightest one I can. Before loosening I tap on the head of the bolt with a large hammer to free what can be freed.
Worth a shot?

Autozone makes me pay for the loaner tools up front, then I get a refund when I bring them back. So the only purchase they require is for the loaner tools :)
