Civic/Del Sol Strut Tower Brace
I am going to eventually buy a strut tower brace for the del Sol, since they have the structural integrity of wet spaghetti. I am thinking going with something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/EG-DC1-DC2-U...ht_4430wt_1398 However, I found these for a really cheap price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/EK-EJ-EG-DA5...ht_4054wt_1398 https://www.ebay.com/itm/88-91-Civic-...ht_2306wt_1165 My question is: Would strut tower braces that are not one-piece (i.e., those with bolts connecting the horizontal bar and the mounting brackets) do any good? Also, would the thin ones even hold up at all? What do you look for in a strut tower brace? Also, what is your opinion on lower tie bars, which connect the lower control arms? Waste of money? Will they break? I can get this set pretty cheap: https://www.ebay.com/itm/93-97-Honda-...ht_2239wt_1165 Thoughts? |
Re: Civic/Del Sol Strut Tower Brace

Re: Civic/Del Sol Strut Tower Brace
I think the best strut bar for the Civic are the Neuspeed bar. You'll see a lot of fast ST Civic(Autocross) with them. I have 1 that I'm not using, but i had it on when I use to race a 93 Civic Si in ST. I picked mine up for $15 on eBay awhile back.
Looks like that. https://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0006_large.jpg |
Re: Civic/Del Sol Strut Tower Brace
I didn't notice any difference with a front and rear strut bar. I would just spend the money on a used Integra Type R rear sway bar.

Re: Civic/Del Sol Strut Tower Brace
I'm getting aluminum rear lower control arms so that I can mount a sway bar. The stock lower control arms aren't set up for a rear bar. I am going to install Eibach Pro sway bars. They will match the springs and shocks. I'm going to do everything at once... I'm probably going to start ordering parts this week.
