SICK!

I have a strong desire to purchase and restore a 1972 Honda N600 once I land a kushy job after graduation [soon]. My first car was a 1973 Porsche 914 that I restored ground up over three years. I got the car when I was 15. The challenge is going to be finding an N600 shell with minimal damage and rust. I don't mind electrical or mechanical work, but I DESPISE body work.

A good friend of mine had one of these Civics in the mid eighties. His was a '75 I think. He got it with a rebuilt engine from the shop where he worked as a mop boy after school. He always got 35-40mpg from the 1200cc engine and 4 speed. It was just enough power to get around, nothing special. It went like 4000rpm at 60 mph it top gear - noisy. He sold it when it had just over 200,000 miles and it still ran and looked great.

I'm actually planning on finding one of these and converting it to an electric car for around the town trips. If it holds 50 miles charge it will be more than enough.

Dunno why, but I'm a bigger fan of the N600...the Z600 is cool but just isn't as cool as the N to me.

I know...I see them go on ebay for under $1K all the time, but I can't buy one now...Tammara would kill me, especially since we are planning a wedding. Perhaps after I buy my welder and get married, I can buy an N600.

I'm actually looking at a CVCC right now in Arizona. I'd really like to get a N600 b/c they look super sweet, but to be honest I'd rather get a car made in 79 so it still has some parts available.

But then again all that I want to do is make an electric car. It might be better if I could find a broken one, but I'll take one in mint condition any day.
