92 Civic VX Speakers size panels

Hi guys. What size you speakers have you installed and what brands and models in rear side panels. Mine didn't come with speakers or panels for that matter but look i found wiring....yeayyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Any ideas how to mount 6x9 speakers in rear. Would 6 1/2 fit? What about speaker holes in side panels? Any idea. As always I appreciate everyone's input/comments.

6.5" can fit with the factory panels in place. You'll have to make something to mount the speaker to if you don't buy the insert. 6X9's are a bit too deep to fit. It's hard to hear the rears very well anyhow.

If it came without speakers the covers you have probably don't have a grille. You'd need those too.

Chris thanks my hommie! ;)
I ordered 6.5 already so should be good to go. Got a great deal on them.

Re: 92 Civic VX Speakers size panels

So I got my 6.5 Pio 3 way speakers and installed them in front as they are much better then what's in front. Front i moved to back and wired them to existing wire harness but NO SOUNDS comes from back. Checked head unit if front and rear speakers are at 0 meaning head unit sends to both not just front. Its does.

I'm assuming head unit was not wired for rear speakers. Why not beats me unless Honda dropped the ball and didn't wire it all the way to head unit.
Found out that head unit can only be removed with 2 7" thin pieces of sheet metal that need to be inserted to take tabs out from sides. Any other ideas how aftermarket stereo can be removed as i don't have at this moment thin pieces of metal? You guys think rear was not wired on head unit or it's honda wiring?

Hi guys. I'm struggling with understanding the wiring of my head unit to old factory plug and existing front and rear speakers wires. Also i figured it would be good to learn if i ever again need to do this myself. I really appreciate your help guys.

Re: 92 Civic VX Speakers size panels

Project "Add rear speakers" is 3/4 complete now. I have wired rear wires to head unit and rears are working great. I must say without rear with just front speakers regardless how good they are it sucks. 4 speakers is a must. I installed NEW Pio 3way 300W speakers in front and moved OEM Pio 2way to back. I think i will replace next week rears too with same kind as front. They sound great. I will post ghetto setup of rears as i don't have harness or grills yet...lol
