Cross-Ventilated Rotors. Worth It?

Are Cross-Ventilated Rotors worth the cost?
I'm about due for pads and because there is a slight vibration from a hot spot on one of the rotors I may replace the rotors rather than turn them.

I often carry large payloads but, more importantly my stopping involves long periods of gentle braking, empty or loaded, rather than hard braking.

Have you had problems with brake fade?

I would think that anything that will lower braking temperatures would be worthwhile, especially if you spend as much time driving as you do.

Never faded. Mechanic said the reason for the vibration was that I didn't break-in the last set of pads.

Maybe in that case, but I know from road course racing (different use of the brakes, I know), that a lot of people had problems with cross-drilled rotors. I had slotted rotors at one point on the front of one of my cars, but they were more expensive & will eat through pads faster.

Do you have a link to the rotors you were thinking of purchasing?

Dex, my carfixer, installed ceramic pads and new rotors of the stock variety. Everything is working splendidly.
