Shatto Loves Costco Gas

I LOVE Costco Gas!

Here's why;

*Costco gas is always around a nickel less than the surrounding stations.
*Costco buys gas by the tanker load, so I could be using; Shell, Chevron, Unocal, Tosoro gas on any given day. It isn't "cheap" gas.
*Costco gives me a refund check based on my total purchases. So my gas is cheaper yet.
*American Express sends me a refund check based on my total purchases. So my gas is cheaper yet!
*My Costco American Express (Executive or Business) Card returns 4% of my gasoline purchase, no matter where I buy the gas, so my petrol is even cheaper than elsewhere.
The membership, is the cost of the card, so, the card is free.
*And, I save money buying stuff I'd buy anyway.

I don't like ethanol gas, so I don't buy gas at Costco or Sam's

You can buy gas without Ethanol?

Yes, its not easy to find, but I make a point to buy ethanol free whenever possible. There's a list of stations that sell ethanol free gas on Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

I like the scenery at Cosco........haha

As far as ethanol goes, all gas around here has it and we have no choice.

Since President Bush mandated it's use, I thought all gasoline had to have a percentage of Ethanol.

I thought so too, but apparently there are places you can get 100% gas according to the link Jay put up.

On my Escape the difference between ethanol and ethanol free can be as much as 8 MPG. Well worth the extra $0.10/gal I pay for it.

The only testing I did on my K1500 pickup truck was on a trip to Florida. Fully loaded with 1,000 lbs of cargo, cruise set on 70 MPH it gets 16 MPG on E10 and 18 MPG on E0. I imagine if I made a similar trip with little to no cargo, the difference will probably be larger.

Depends on the state, but think your best bet of finding ethanol free in near any place with boats. Saw one near Myrtle Beach, SC but it didn't have any price signs up. If I end up paying more per mile than E10, it isn't worth it.
