Correcting mistakes

Can't correct mistakes?

I made a mistake when entering a fuel up from 2007 (forgot to update the year dropdown). There does not seem to be any way for me to correct this mistake!

Also, it would be nice to be able to search the text in the forums so I don't have to dig through the entire history to see if my concern has already been addressed. (And what's with the three different input boxes? I'm not entirely sure I understand the difference between all the fields.)

On you car profile, take a look at your list of fuel-ups and look for the gear icon on the far right under the Edit heading; you can click that to edit. Here's what it looks like. Alternately, you can click View All Fuel-ups on your car profile and from there the edit link next to any fuel-up you need to change.

Good idea on being able to search the forums. Until we get something up, I've been using Google to search the forums like this. We'll probably put a form that makes searching like this with Google easy.

And I'm not sure what you mean by three input boxes? Which form do you mean?

I did find the edit link after posting; thanks. (Would be convenient if there was a link to edit a fuel-up immediately after adding it, though.)

When you post a new thread in the forum, there's an input box for description, one for "more inside," and one for headline. I would get it if there were two boxes (one for subject, one for body, more or less) but with the three of them I find it confusing. I guess I'm not clear on the purpose of the description box, even now that I see where all of that data ended up in my post. (Live preview's pretty cool, though. Never seen anyone do that before.)

Ahh, Description is the same thing as body that you mention. That's the most important thing when you post, so it's the first place you type when you're adding a post. And More Inside is just a way to extend your post if you're running long. The More Inside section only shows up on post detail pages, not the front page.

And good point on being able to edit right after a fuel-up. That would be handy.

I hereby suggest adding those descriptions to the "post new thread" page.

I cleaned up the posting page a bit, with some (hopefully) better descriptions of what each part does.
