So now you see why the USA has so many wrecks and fatalities. No education , no training.....just pass them through like cattle. It's crazy. That is why my main car is a tank, so I can survive some idiot crashing into me.

If i remember correctly, first time through the driving at the police academy was over 70% failure ( I passed ). Then they did the week long training. Something every driver should have to have. At least 40 hours. (my opinion)

Yes at least. I had 2 hours a week for 6 months before I passed (50 hours) all on public roads, in amongst traffic etc. Experience and education are priority.

Unfortunately, the US public transit system isn't up to par of many other countries. I don't the historical order of whether we got easy driver tests then poor public transit or if the poor transit was there first, but they are something that would have to be addressed at the same time.

Apart from the Army, does the US government spend anything on public services? I mean you dont even have free healthcare yet right?

Driving in the US is pretty easy, it is not mass chaos.

To answer the original Volt question, you never get to join the party, your car is too advanced a concept for us to compete with, now go away on your silent electric drive!

I don't know how "advanced" my Volt is. I had a longer than usual drive yesterday and the ICE came on for the last 8 miles, and I could actually smell the engine heating up for a minute or two before the smell went away. I am not sure when the ICE had last been on but I think it was in December.

685 mpg plus around 50 cents of electricity a day. If the car was a bit roomier in the back seat I would never let it go.
