Tour De Sol for non-hybrid cars
I sent an email to Nancy Hazard at the NESEA and asked if traditional ICE vehicles can enter the Tour De Sol. Her response is as follows:

Craig Vetter of motorcycle fairing fame had a fuel economy run for motorcycles in the 70s and 80s. It was really informal, done on public roads and was done on a trust basis. Harleys with taller gearing were getting over 80 mpg and some reached over 100 mpg. I think it died off due to lack of interest. The time may be right to start something like this again.

i could get 70-75 mpg (US) when i took it easy. |
