Yes it's true, nissans are built for power and excitment. My excitment ends when the car goes into 3rd gear and the accelaration blows. I think the problem would of been solved if nissan used a 5 speed auto instead of a 4 speed auto. It would of had better accelaration and good gas mileage. One thing I hate about my car is the fact that most 4 cylenders these days have a redline of at least 6500rpm. Mine only has 6100. There is no top end but if the car shifts it will drop right into it's powerband if the redline was 6500rpm. Almost most new cars have a better a/f ratio. The new civic has all these 3 things, but the auto gets a 17.3 in the 1/4 mile which is really weird because the dx manual gets high 15's.

no thanks. It has no torque. I have the same amount of torque at 2000rpm.

W00T! I agree! I had a '99 and it was the best car I've ever owned. Granted, low on torque, but that saved on gas with the 2-stage valve lift. If you needed more fuel delivery, VTEC was there and it screamed --ust get it above 5500 RPM (if I remember right). I can still hear it. With the high compression, it did require at least 91 Octane fuel, but to describe that machine, as Kool Aid Man put it so eloquently, "Oh Yeah". I miss that car... :-( Damn Evo fever.
