Ours has dropped quite a bit now, but interesting to see a huge difference between the cheapest, and the most expensive premium in the UK now. The cheapest is $8.64 and the most expensive is $11.63! Thats a $3 difference between the cheapest and dearest!

I filled up with 93-octane premium for less than $3 a gallon this week ($2.97). The last record of anything less than $3 that I found in my log was in November of 2010.

Its strange how your fuel is less than $3 a gallon, and yet here, thats the price difference per gallon between the cheapest and premium!

@B3NN3T I see you have a 500 Abarth, I had one for 5 years, what do you think of the little car?

Kuripot_Kevin 11-13-2014 09:59 AM

I will mention this, my mileage has dropped off a cliff since the change to winter blend and colder weather. The Accent has gone from about 38mpg down to probably 33mpg.

I thought mine had dropped, but I've just come back from a 44 mile spin and managed 72.3 MPG which is more than I usually get.

Kuripot_Kevin 11-13-2014 03:18 PM

I drive about 75 miles per day so it's immediately obvious when my mileage drops.

Enjoying it immensely. When the Mini Cooper I was looking at was sold, I took a test drive in the Abarth instead, and kind of fell in love with its histrionic eagerness right away. I was afraid it would be too small, since I'm 6'4" tall, but this model, without the sunroof, has loads of headroom. The cabin is so well-engineered for space, too.

It was meant to replace the SVT Focus (equivalent to your ST170 Focus), but we can't bear to part with it yet, so it's still around as well. Even though its 2.0 makes more bhp than the Abarth, the lack of torque in the Focus really makes it feel like a slug around town by comparison.

They are great little cars, perhaps one of the funnest cars in the past decade! Really sad to sell mine, but it had a hard life and bits were going wrong. Plus, even at 40 MPG, it was too expensive to run here with fuel prices as they are. Maybe one day i'll own another ;)
