Incorrect High MPG's not filtered out
Just looking through some 2014 Cruze Diesel MPG ratings and noticed one driver that averaged 53.6 MPG but I looked into his profile and all of the fills were <40 MPG except for one that was 221 MPG. This is obviously an error but was not filtered out, and thus skews the overall MPG of the car for that year.
Please look into these inconsistencies and eliminate them whenever possible. Thanks! |
There are lots of examples like these, I noticed one on a VW with 241 MPG. They are either mistakes or some people just dont know how to use fuelly properly.

You can report the page via the link at the bottom of the site to send a note to the Fuelly Team to review.
We are looking to prevent bad data (often typos or simply forgetting a fill-up) and are starting to implement catches to stop it before it's submitted. We will be going through all the reported pages as well to correct the erroneous figures soon. Thanks for the feedback! |
I don't know if this is possible, but one way to tackle this problem would be to have a box you have to fill stating the fuel tank size approx, in either litres or gallons etc. Most people know this anyway, if not it's in the car's manual. Then if any data exceeded what the car could do on a tank, it could prompt people to check it.
Just an idea :) |
I just reported a page, someone in a VW TDI whose best MPG was apparently almost 200 MPG.

Well my Volt mileage won't display. 5707.7 Miles with 8.1 gallons for 704+ mpg, yes that's what I got no cheating, sure it's a lot of electric but it won't display right.
