2014 Mitsubishi Outlander mpg.
Good Day.
Im averaging 35.2 MPG 6.67 L/HD KM with my 2014 Outlander AWD 4 Cyl. How to Hyper mile an CVT AWD Auto SUV. Any help or tips would be appreciated. I would like to break 40 MPG. |
That will be tough. The height and body shape of a SUV don't lend themselves to hypermiling. A grill block will help with some of the aero and warm up times. An air dam can keep most of the air from flowing along the dirty underside.
I'm not familiar with what can be done with a CVT. Is neutral coasting possible? |

Grill block, how much to block off? The sales person said it can flat tow so neutral coast is yes, I dont know if thats true though (it can flat tow). Im looking at getting taller tires 235/75R16 29.9" Vs 215/70R16 27.9" do you think thats ok? |
The final drive gearing change with those tires will most likely help on the highway but MAY hurt in city or suburban driving. Hard to tell until you do it. I'll be going up to 28" tires from my 27" current set once they are worn. With my typical driving terrain and habits I believe even my small change in gearing will increase MPG by a measurable amount.

Is the Outlander hybrid available over there? Its rated at 148 MPG.
