Multiple Currencies

Hi,
I realise the world consists of the USA (with a slight nod given to Canada and Mexico) :D, but seriously, after several years of use, Fuelly still doesn't support multiple currencies. As in, multiple currencies used for the same account/vehicle.

People do take their vehicles into other countries from time to time, and pay in those currencies. Yes I can calculate roughly what the price would've been in my "home" currency, but that's not going to be exact (exchange rates fluctuate daily, then there's foreign transaction fees, etc etc). Furthermore I actually have money which was earned in that other country, so it has no relation whatsoever to my home country. Finally, it'd be nice to go back to historic records and see how much petrol was in another country for future trip budgeting purposes.

Shouldn't be difficult - simply add a column stating the currency the fuel was paid in (defaults to the last currency used), and optionally another column either giving the exchange rate, or the home-currency equivalent amount. Populate it by giving every record the home currency of the user.

Thanks for your consideration,
- Micha.

Good point. Also some parts of the UK accept and use Euros too, another currency that people from the UK might use from time to time.

Thanks for the feedback. Although everything sounds easy when you are dealing with a website, iOS and Android apps, even the smallest features need to be properly planned and developed. We'll discuss this and see if/when this is a feature we can add to our system.

Hullo,

so two years on, just wondering whether there have been any updates on this?

Just came back from a round-trip to Cologne (I live in the UK), and going on another trip in another couple of weeks to the Continent - which will involve quite a few more currencies as I'll be going through 5-6 countries, some of which don't use the Euro.

For an example of an App which does handle fuel tracking with multiple currencies, check out My Cars on Android - I raised this same feature request to the author of that app, and he implemented it within a few months.

Thanks,
- Micha.

For European roadtrips it's very common to use multiple currencies. Also useful for Americans going into Canada and Mexico. Please add this feature.
