Question on mileage

tell me how do i get 36.1 mpg from 132 miles on 7 gallons of gas? fuelly says i do but my math says i don't am i figuring this wrong? 132/7=18 ? if so then what is the math?

This is the Metro, right? geo metro barbi doll (Geo Metro) | Fuelly

Fuelly is combining this tank with the previous partial fill for the calculation. So it is 392 miles/10.6 gallons(roughly).

Are you saying it should be 36 MPG? Or it should be 18 MPG?

thanks i forgot about the partial fill but i'm thinking that is still incorrect. i must have entered something wrong. i put in a almost full tank at 7 gallons and it figures in my calculator to be 18 mpg for that tank. it is hard to remember as i don't put gas in this car very often we drive it about one day a week at the mos in the summer and o days in the cold weather.

to answer the second reply i think 18 is a better figure. and that is low for the little car. i filler it friday 7-3-15 and it is now on a road trip so maybe when we get done i can get a better number.

thanks
