Dashboard information

I was curious what mpg other's are getting and of course it's in here if you look. Scroll down and there's a link that leads you to this.

Based on data from 105 vehicles, 1,503 fuel-ups and 580,778 miles of driving, the 2015 Toyota Prius gets a combined Avg MPG of 45.93 with a 0.28 MPG margin of error.

I'm probably the strange one in the group but I'd like to see that automatically presented on my dashboard without linking to a different page so I'd see a continual moving average, albeit only slightly moving I know. So I thought I'd mention it and see if the potentially other 3 strange people out of the millions of fuellyers agreed.

LDB,

I would agree with you, it would be good to see how your average compares with the overall average for the vehicle.

I know on another site they compare your average to the combined value for the vehicle and indicate how you are doing as a percentage of the combined value.

For example if the combined figure for your car is 50mpg and your average is 55mpg then you woudl be at +10%

This does require an accurate vehicle database with the correct mpg figures which might be hard to maintain, not sure if that information is readily available anywhere?

Oliver.

It might not be the absolute most accurate but the info that I copied and then pasted here is a very good start. I know it's only one click of a link to get it but it seems valuable enough to put on the main dashboard page without clicking.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I think the reason we opted to make the stats like that on a different page is to not over-clutter the dashboard. If you have one or two cars, then it might be okay visually, but some users have many more vehicles in their "Garage". I have 12. :yikes!:

The old Gassavers site did this. Doesn't need a data base; just an entry for the official rating in the vehicle profile. This would much simpler considering the international users on the site.
