New cars are coming out with Direct Injection
Direct Injection is where fuel is sprayed right into the combustion chamber, improves fuel economy and gives a huge boost in power.
So far the Lexus IS350 has it. Anybody know any other cars with it? |
I think my friend's 93 bmw
I think my friend's 93 bmw has it. 170 hp and like 15mpg.

Here is how direct injection
Here is how direct injection works, they actually took this idea from diesel engines. Also with higher compression ratio the better the efficiency of the engine. The lexus engine that has this system is 11.8 compression

My friend's car is just huge
My friend's car is just huge and short geared, it weighs like 3200 pounds. Plus he has huge rims and really whips on it.

I wish my car had high
I wish my car had high compression pistons, more top end cams, direct injection and direct ignition. See now there is no point in modding my car, it doesn't have any of the new technology. I don't even have direct ignition.
I'll be sure my next car has all of the above. BTW, the camry has all this stuff except the direct injection. If it had it we would see a 285hp give or take car and possibly 25mpg city/35mpg freeway. How is that for a 13 second fuel economy? |

Anyway, why don't you just mod your engine? There are 15 year old honda engines running 891 hp and 680 torque, don't tell the owner their car is worthless because it doesn't have direct injection or 7 top end cams. |

1. I live in cali, so during smog my car will fail 2. Cars are becoming economic and fast at the same time 3. Pistons $500, rods $600, ecu $600, cams $600, not to mention the 2k+ to get that all installed and tuned. That's $4300 and I would have a high 14 second car that can't pass smog. The thing with the camry is it's stock and legal. There are some swaps you can do in cali to a civic and be 100% legal but it would be so boring. When I went to the track the fastest cars were civics, it was so boring because most of them ran so close to each other. I've raced a turboed one and he pulled a 12.7, while most NA civics were doing 13.3 What good is a car if it's too predictable and gets pulled over all the time because every ricer has it? |

Case in point, a 1.6 running
Case in point, a 1.6 running 315 whp and 297 ftlbs of torque, non-vtec engine. Ran 11.9...

not odd at all. He playing
not odd at all. He playing off like how he had a slow car. He raced people for money off the track. He went to the track just to catch some pray. Right before I raced him he told me to get rid of my car and get a civic and mod it. He knew what my car would run before I even ran it. He uses racing as a money profit. He asked me If I was in the 15's yet and I told him no. I ran against him with a 16 flat. Nitrous is so fast on the rpm it would of been easier just to leave it in D. On my last run I ran 15.7 and I had one more run left. I know I wasn't going to get faster because nitrous is very unpredictable on street tires.
Civic is perfect for mpg or power or even both. But I want to be original. |
